I meant to post this earlier this week but I'm just now getting around to it. A couple weeks ago I sent in a CHEER to TV Guide's Cheers and Jeers online and I was pleasantly surprised to open up the May 5, 2008 issue and find my CHEER in there.

I thought I would share it with you. It's about DL of course. There's also a JEER about it too and I have to laugh at it since it mentions CSI:NY turning into a soap opera NOW that Danny slept with Rikki. Um, sorry no. It was turned into a soap opera two years ago when all of this DL nonsense started.

I've been bored so I did what I said I wasn't gonna do. I went to that DL board. All I have to say is: and and last but not least: . Sorry faylinn_drake for my lovely copy/paste skills again but I think it was more entertaining than anything.

FYI: Most of this in in reference to the interview Carmine gave CSI FIles back in June 2007. Could someone tell me why a site that totally does not care for Talk CSI, would get their news items from CSI Files? It is the same site.

Let's just start off with quotes from a few posts. I won't name names but a few of them are from DL fans who do indeed post on TalkCSI.

My comments to the quotes will be like this: (in blue, bold, and in parenthesis) because my brain is turning to mush.

^^Very interesting article, I must say. I enjoy hearing Carmine's thoughts on the D/L relationship.
I like how the interviewee kept pressuring Carmine into questions about D/L, espeically since she loathes them (Wasn't she the interviewER? Why wouldn't she ask questions about DL? Nothing makes DL fans happy.)

I really dislike reading interviews rom blatant anti DL, because she really did push to have him say somthing disparaging. (lame, whatever) I think Carmine answered the questions very well.

I don't know I got the feeling at time with that interview like the person was trying to get Carmine to say something bad about Lindsay,,the way it kept on like how Danny acted around her and all that...but hey that could just be me...

First off, I'm annoyed that he continues to give that site interviews, even though he acknowledged that he reads the site, so he has to know what they say about Lindsay and Anna. - (He continues to give THAT site interviews because he likes that site and the interviewer. And yes, he does indeed read the site. He's said that more than once.)

Second, I'm annoyed that he mentioned that he reads that site. I hope TPTB realize that it's not the only CSI board out there. - (No, of course it's not but it's the one they've chosen to read.)

Maybe he is toying with the interviewer. He said he reads the site - he's got to know what they say about everything. Maybe he's just saying this kind of stuff to get everyone all riled up. But I think it's kind of mean, if he is doing that. It's giving poor little shippers like me heart attacks. - (Was he just toying with the interviewer when he said DL would be in the sack by the end of the season?)

Gotta love how the interviewer pushes him to answer the D/L questions and keeps harping on about it -(What's wrong? Don't like the questions she's asking and the answers he's giving?)

I think right now it is all speculation. Look who he's giving the interview with. They want to hear that Danny would break up with Lindsay. And maybe he intentionly gave into them. We know he can't give the details of season 4. - (Isn't it all speculation until the episodes actually air?)

Carmine is a professional and he knows about how the business works. He does know about that site so he knows what they are all about and even though he agrees with some of the things that they are saying he didn't play into what they wanted him to say that 'Lindsay is the root of all evil'. - (I didn't realize the interviewer was trying to get him to say what she wanted. Still, if it had been all good about DL, would this whining be happening?)

What strikes me as odd is the fact, how Carmine replied to the questions after that Flack/Danny thingie came up.
All the questions about Danny & Lindsay before that, he answered lengthy and very detailed. But from this question on, he suddenly replies curtly and vague, like he didn't want to talk about it any longer. - (Um...maybe the questions were broken down to be easier to understand. Carmine can be quite a chatterbox. I know, it's a sign! He must be opposed to Danny/Flack.)

I don't know if I read too much between the lines, but it seems to me that he got tired of those kind of questions after that. I agree that the interviewer (I refuse to call her 'journalist') kinda forced him into saying something negative sounding about D/L and it seems that, at this point, he just said anything to give her an answer and make her stop questioning him. - (I didn't realize that Carmine couldn't speak for himself. Do you honestly think Carmine would just give any old answer to get rid of her? You people are making him look like a complete dumbass.)

I truly doubt he reads the site, maybe his publicist or manager has. - (He does read the site. I've already stated that and he as too, several times.)

As a fan of Anna first and foremost, I find it borderline offensive that any of the cast would grant interviews with a website that says such tacky and horrible things about her. That bothers me quite a bit. And I highly doubt Carmine spends much time surfing the CSI sites on the web (despite my banner I had awhile back, lol). They are busy people. - (So, should everybody love Anna/Lindsay? Carmine doesn't surf the CSI siteS, he reads TalkCSI/CSI Files.)

Journalism - GOOD journalism - is not supposed to be biased, and yet this interview clearly is. While I definitely was intrigued by some of the aspects of the interview (the whole Danny being a punching bag thing really makes a lot of sense), there are other parts that just didn't...feel like they were coming from Carmine himself. - (How is it biased? Because Carmine says some negative things about DL? Grow up. Has anybody not thought of the fact that since Carmine reads the site, that he'd read the interview too? Do you think he'd just ignore the interviewer putting words in his mouth?)

I don't like 'the other site' at all, for the sheer fact that they always portray Anna/Lindsay in a negative light (as they did in this interview), and they have the power to take what the actors say and kind of turn it in their favor. - (The entire world doesn't love Anna/Lindsay and regardless, the other site isn't negative about her, SOME of the fans are. Lord knows somebody from your precious site would be banned if they said anything negative about the wonderful Lindsay/Anna although, I've noticed that bashing Melina/Stella is perfectly ok. Yes, I saw plenty of that, too. Does that make you feel better?)

I will say it again, Carmine did good, 'cause he didn't give them a quote where he talks bad about Lindsay or Anna or D/L. They sure try, I still remember when they tried to get something negative out of Eddie (Flack) about D/L. - (Carmine did good because he gave the answers he wanted to give. Eddie was merely asked what he thought about DL and his answer of "Flack wouldn't be that patient." seemed like something Flack would say.)

Or perhaps a PROFESSIONAL journalist conduct the interview not a Moderator on a fan-run message board. - (So, moderators on message boards don't have real jobs? Wow..I wasn't aware of that. FYI, TalkCSI is not a fan run message board either.)

I love how people at "the other site" are twsting the entire interview around and saying that Carmine hates D/L . That's exactly why I only post in the DL and Lindsay/Anna threads there. - (You only post in the DL and Anna/Lindsay threads on TalkCSI because you can't handle actually debating we evil DL/Anna/Lindsay haters. Why do you care if we 'twist' things and say Carmine hates DL? If you don't believe that, does it really matter?)

If that's the route they are taking for S4, then they can count me out as a viewer. - (Bye! Don't let the door hit you on the way out.)

No way are they going to spend two entire seasons working on D/L and then throw it all away. Seems like a waste to me, especially when a lot of people like the relationship (from what I've seen and heard anyways) - (Of course it seems that way to you. Maybe you should venture out into the world every now and then. TPTB would never change their mind about anything now, would they?)

They always find some way to bring up D/F to Eddie & Carmine to get the pairing into their heads and see if they wanna run with it. Rather annoying if you ask me, but yeah look who's doing the interview, so it's not surprising. - (That's it. It's that big plan to get Eddie, Carmine, and TPTB to see the light. Please, I'd never want to see DF happen on the show. TPTB would just fuck it up. I'll stick to fanfic.)

And I agree with you as well on the whole D/F thing. Not all all surprised that they squirmed that into the interview - (Feeling threatened by DF anybody?)

And as for the Danny/Flack thing.....they say that the CSI shows dove into something they had never done before with Danny/Lindsay and Grissom/Sara, and they say it was a risky move....what the hell makes them think a slash relationship is going to be anymore receptive reviews? -

But it'll be receptive to *them*, and that's all they care about. - (OK, these two don't really make a lot of sense but I'm loving the word receptive being used in relation to we DF slashers. Thanks! BTW, Danny is totally receptive to Flack.)

As for D/F? Give it up people jesus! But I did love Carmine's reaction - (Think what you want but Carmine isn't opposed to DF. Although I could say the same thing about DL: Give it up people, Jesus!)

^^Now that I look at it, he does answer the D/L questions in great depth but swiftly becomes vague when asked about D/F. (That's because Danny is hiding his secret crush on Flack from everybody.)

Now, the Danny and Flack friendship (I'm not even addressing the slash), I honestly see more of a connection between Danny and Hawkes. Sure, Danny and Flack had that bit in OTJ. In S3 however, consider what we've seen: Hawkes opening up and confiding in Danny. Danny visibly disturbed by Hawkes' arrest. Danny inviting Hawkes to his mother's house for dinner. So he played pool in the bar with Flack this season, but otherwise, I'd say he is best buds with Hawkes. - (Of course you think he's best buds with Hawkes. Flack is a threat to DL, not Hawkes. Think what you want but the Danny/Flack friendship is CANON and very much there. Danny did more than just play pool with Flack in the bar in ...Comes Around. Danny was feeling down and he turned to Flack for comfort...NOT Lindsay. That dear fanthings, says a lot.)

I didn't see much of S1, but even early-S2-Danny didn't appeal to me. He was cocky, arrogant, big mouthed. Since then, he has learned some hard lessons about life, dealt with personal trauma, fallen in love very deeply, learned to take rejection and yet still be supportive, and learned to control himself a bit more. He's become a man. Hey, maybe I'm just a prude, but to me that is MUCH more sexy and appealing than S1 Danny. - (It's apparent that you didn't see much of S1 since you don't think Danny and Flack are very close. You a prude? Don't know don't care but it's funny how all DL fans hate Season 1 Danny. Perhaps because Season 1 Danny wouldn't have been interested in Lindsay at all.)

That's another point, fans are hardly divided. The ones who dislike DL are very vocal about it, but it seems overall, people love or like DL. Remember the poll on the CSI Crime lab site? It ended up being almost 90% in favor of DL, I think (or close to it). - (Online polls are so accurate. What site? Sounds to me like only DL fans got to vote. Sorry if I don't take your word for it that overall people love or like DL. What about the people who don't give a fuck? Did you lump them in with the love?)

Manner of interview. This was conducted like the interrogation from hell. it had a distinct vibe of "you HATE D/L, don't you? You LOATHE Anna, don't you? Go ahead! Admit it! We know it's true! While you're at it, admit how much you LOVE the idea of D/F." - (hahahahahahaha...whatever.)

those three things make this interview a non-factor in my world. It seemed to me, like the more she tried to get Carmine to say something negative towards D/L and he wouldn't, the more aggravated she got, thus, the more aggressive til he told her what she wanted to hear. And then by the time they got the the D/F thing, I think Carmine was so irritated with her, that he was done totally. - (I was under the impression she was asking DL questions because that was the hot topic ATM.)

You know what...there was a lot of talk after Carmine made the "makin' love" comment to Kristin from E! saying that he must have been drunk when he said that so I am now choosing to believe that he was sitting at home with his buddies getting wasted and having a summer BBQ before this phone interview happened. - (There may have been talk like that but Carmine did say that and it did happen. I'm thinking that some of the things he said in this interview will indeed happen too. It's not like you DL fans get to pick and choose what goes on.)

^^ Trust that I'll be posting the link everywhere once I've created it. It's my goal to not only show TPTB that there are a lot of people who support the ship, but also that we can go about voicing our support in a mature, rational manner. - (This is actually funny because I wasn't aware of this until now: That the DL petition was started after that Carmine interview just to prove how many fans loved DL. How lame. Hmm..I must have missed the mature, rational manner they voiced their opinions.

A thought:

Carmine has done several interviews with CSI Files and that same interviewer so I'm thinking he must like talking with her or he probably wouldn't keep doing it. I don't see him sitting down with anybody from your board.

One last thing: I can't wait until after Episode 13 airs to see how much they will whine if the script hasn't been changed.

I'm rarely on my desktop. I do everything from the taskbar (I'm still getting used to Windows Vista, btw) and as you can see, I have two firefox windows. One is for the internet and the other is for gtalk. I have one IE window so I can be on both my 1csimfan LJ and my detdonflackjr LJ. I'm seriously on my Flack LJ more than this one though. The other six are my trillian chats although atm I'm only talking to faylinn_drakeand gsanders_csi atm.

So, boring as such, there it is.
